Release By Craig Boston and Jesse Chang Instructions by Craig Boston Made possible by the ZZT club on Prodigy (which no longer exists). If this is your first time to play, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! !inst;Instructions !his;History !cred;Credits !hint;Hints /i #SEND music:play #END :inst $Instructions This game will be a little different from other ZZT games you have played. Here's some background on what's going on: $Story You are an ordinay person living a happy life in the distant future. However, this is about to change. After boarding a ship going to Mars, you and your pocket computer descover a devious plot. They will be able to control the world if you don't stop them! $How to play This part should be familiar. You use the arrow keys to move and SHIFT-arrows to shoot (if you have a gun). Here's where is gets different. To pick up, look at, or move an object, just run into it. To talk to someone, run into them. After the great economic crash of 2038 people started using something that car- rried real value (gems) instead of cur- rency that just represented it. Torches have been changed to flshlights. Ammo has been replaced by battery packs that recharge your laser pistol (assuming you find one). $Opening Sequence At the start of the game, it may seem boring because it is mostly talk. This is to get you aquainted with your surr- oundings and there will be more action as the game continues. $Good Luck You'll need it! !main;Return to Main Menu /i #SEND music:play #END :his $History There's not much history to this game. It was created as a membership applicat- ion to the ZZT club (chapter two). It was inspired by my strong intrest of time travel. Later I sent a copy of the first few scenes (a demo) to Jesse Chang and he made some changes to it. Then we deci- ded to have a joint venture and the rest is history. Unfortunately, I lost con- tact with Jesse and had to finish it my- self. This is a beta release which may contain some bugs and is not completely finished. !main;Return to Main Menu /i #SEND music:play #END :cred $Credits Programming by: Craig Boston Graphics by: Jesse Chang Music by: Craig Boston Sound Effects by: Jesse Chang Figuring out what those dumb ASCII char- acters look like: Jesse Chang Craig Boston Special Thanks to: David and Patty Boston Jerry Hsu Tim Sweeny ZZT Club (chapter two) Prodigy... NOT! !main;Return to Main Menu /i #SEND music:play #END :hint $Hints Here are some general hints: Listen to (read) all of the dialouge. Shoot at enemies, talk to friends. You can tell someone is an enemy if they break one of the laws of ZZT. !what; What laws? Save batteries and flashlights for when you need them. Try everything (We put some pretty out- rageous soloutions in this game). Save your game as soon as you figure a board out (in case you die on the next one). It's a good idea to save your games with different names each time in case you find out that you made a mistake several screens ago. Save your game if the game tells you to. !main;Return to Main Menu. /i #SEND music:play #END :what $What laws? Here are some important Civilized Ob- ject Code Regulations. It is against the law to do any of the things listed here. #326 - Having speech that touches the red arrow at the end of the line. #467 - Hyphinating a word at a place other than the end of a syl- lable. #492 - Unprovicated attack of an ob- ject. #519 - Speaking in an unfriendly manner to an object. #534 - Judging an object by how much much wealth it possesses. !main;Return to Main Menu. /i #SEND music:play #END
